Race Report: CMRC Calgary Motocross National

Calgary_3I just finished up the third round of the 2013 CMRC Motocross Nationals, Calgary proved to be my best race of the season.  My speed was there all weekend and I walked away with 2-2 moto scores for a 2nd overall.  In the first moto I started about 5th and moved into 2nd by the fifth lap, and I stayed there all moto. In moto two I got a 4th place start passed into 2nd before crashing in a rutted turn. Once I got my bike restarted i was back in 9th position, I charged the rest of the moto and passed Kaven Beniot moving myself into 2nd with four laps to go. I caught Politelli in the closing laps of the moto but came up 4 seconds short when the checkered flag came out.

Race Report: CMRC Kamloops Motocross National

Kamloops_2The second round of the 2013 CMRC Canadian Motocross nationals was set in Kamloops, BC. This was the home race for my team RTR Performance Honda and was my first overall podium finish of the season. My starts worse definitely worse this weekend, both motos I was outside the top 5 at the end of the first lap. In the first moto I started around 8th and had a hard time finding my grove and putting down consistent laps, on the last lap I was in 4th all over Naudit in 3rd but found myself a wheel short at the checkered flag. In the second moto I started just outside the top 5, I passed myself into 3rd in the opening laps and stayed in 3rd the rest of the moto. The 4-3 moto scores earned me 3rd overall for the weekend. I am really looking forward to Calgary this weekend and am hoping to be standing a little higher on the box!

Race Report: CMRC Nanaimo Motocross National

The opening round of the the 2013 CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals had its ups and downs. In the first moto I got off the a 3rd place start, I passed into 2nd on the third lap and stayed there for the rest of the moto. I was pretty happy with the result but, not very happy with my riding. I started riding tight on the fifth lap and never recovered. In the second moto I was in 3rd exiting the first turn when I was t-boned from the inside causing a massive pileup. I picked my bike up as fast as I could be was forced to pull into the mechanics area to get my bike straightened out, after getting going again I fell twice more coming through the pack but managed to charge back to 9th by the time the checkered flag came out. the 2-9 moto scored landed me a 4th overall, 13 points back in the championship. I’m coming into Kamloops prepared to win.
