My Writings. My Thoughts.
I am pretty happy with my riding this evening, I feel like I am getting stronger every week and I am already looking forward to San Diego. I had a rough time in qualifying and could seem to put together a complete lap in either of the two qualifying sessions, I came out of qualifying sitting 19th in times and I was put into the second heat.
I suffered from poor starts all night but was able to move forward in both the heat and the main event. In the heat I started 16th, I rode a little tight in the heat but I charged all race and finished 7th. In the main I got luck and scored a gate on the inside of the box, but the rut was really crooked which turned out to really effect my start. In the main event I got a horrible start and came around 19th on the first lap. I rode fifteen fairly consistent laps and was able to worth my way into 13th by the end of the race.
Tim from TRS Consulting has really stood behind me this season and I cant thank him enough for the continued support. Also, huge shout out to Bolt Motorcycle Hardware, C4MX, Team Pernstiener, Sunstar Sprockets, FMF Racing, Hinson, Works Connection, Guts Seats, MotoPro Graphics, Dunlop, Sidi boots, Scott Goggles, Strikt Gear, Shoei Helmets, No-Toil, VP Fuels, Excel Rims, Astritk, RTR Performance, Graeme Brough, and Jim Castillo.

The opening round of the 2014 AMA Supercross season was a little rough. I had some trouble in qualifying both with the bike and with myself, I transferred 19th into the night program. In my heat race I hit a neutral right outside of the gate, I rounded the first turn in dead last. While working my way through the pack I ran into the rear tire of another racer in the whoops, I went down hard and was unable to finish the race. I pulled some muscles in my back in the crash making it very hard for me to ride the rest of the night.
We got my bike back together and I lined up ALmost last for the LCQ. I got off to a 4th place start and rode their for the entire race securing myself a transfer into the main event. I had bike trouble and could not get my bike fired on the starting line, I couldn’t get out for the parade lap and after bump starting my bike i made it to the line only 12 seconds before the gate dropped. Needless to stay I got a horrible start. I tried to ride constant laps in there main but the pain in my back made it very difficult to put in fast laps. I ended up finishing in 20th. Im glad to get though the first round without any serious injury and am looking forward the rest of the series.
Last weekendwas the seventh round of the 2013 CMRC Motocross Nationals in Deschambault. Let me start by saying I thought the track was really run, but at the same time it was probably the most one lined track we have raced all year. Timed qualifying went great, I put down the fastest lap giving myself first gate pick going into moto one. In the first moto I was t-boned in the first turn forcing me to swerve off the track. I reentered in almost dead last and went to work moving forward, but with the track being so one lined passing was extremely difficult. On the last lap I found myself in 5th with Savage right in front of me, I made the pass for 4th but in the fallowing turn he came into me and I went down. I ended up being clipped twice while trying to remount the motorcycle and was forced to kick start it not once but twice, I finished a disappointing 14th.
I rebounded nicely in the second moto scoring a top-5 start and passing into 1st early, I lead the rest of the moto and scored the win. The 14-1 moto scores earned me 5th overall. The good news on the weekend is that Politelli finished behind me both motos and I cut his points lead in half with four motos remaining. I now have two more rounds, four motos to make up 15-points. I feel like I am riding better now than any other time in my career and I can’t wait to go racing this weekend.
